få dager. I juni 1967 ble forfatter og forlegger dømt etter straffelovens bestemmelse om utgivelse av «utuktige skrifter», og boken ble inndratt.

Med alle sine overdrivelser og påfunn er Uten en tråd en klar underholdningsroman. Men Bjørneboe ville ikke vært forfatteren om boken ikke også hadde et klart etisk perspektiv: Seksualiteten er uskyldig så lenge moralbudene om redelighet, mot, alminnelig menneskelighet og hensynsfullhet følges.
