lily is an artist working with painting, textiles, sculpture and more. She makes art because it feels like magic spells.Β
Lily works across painting, drawing, sculpture, textiles and video. Her work is interested in concepts of collective imagining and fantasy. She is also interested in ideas of make-believe, playfulness and humour. Her work often uses images from nature in conjunction with those found in fantasy, myth and fairytale to create utopian images. Her work aims to have a softness and lightness to it, both materially or conceptually to provide comfort and calm to viewers.
Lily is based on Gadigal land, Sydney and completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at UNSW Art & Design in 2018 and will be completing her Honors in 2022. She has exhibited in both Australia and abroad and worked on projects for Carriageworks, Sydney Opera House & The National. She is also the founder of Flower Books.Β
